Gosiame Tallama Sithole, 37, gave birth to seven boys and three girls after undergoing Caesarean section at a hospital in Pretoria, South Africa.
The children’s father Mr Tsotetsi told local media Pretoria News the babies were born on Monday night, saying he was happy.
Mr Tsotetsi said: ‘There are seven boys and three girls. She was seven months and seven days pregnant.
Speaking to the prenatal newspaper, Ms Sithole, who also has six-year-old twins, said doctors had initially told her she was pregnant with six children.
But later tests showed she was pregnant with eight children.
It was during the operation that the other two children were seen.
Ms Sithole gave birth to the ten children a month after a Malian woman gave birth to eight in Morocco.
