Bossaso airport to start international flights

The Puntland State of Somalia has announced that Bossaso International Airport can now be used by large aircraft that fly between and outside the country.

Puntland’s Minister of Civil Aviation and Airports Ilyas Osman Lugatoor (Gebiley) has announced that international flights will be allowed to land at Bossaso International Airport in Bari region.

“We are committed to developing domestic and international aviation in Puntland to facilitate the movement of the people of Puntland,” said Ilyas Lugatoor, Puntland’s Minister of Civil Aviation and Airports.

One of the flights at the airport will connect the town of Sharqa in the United Arab Emirates to Bossaso, and the flight from Sharqa will go directly to Bossaso and pass through Mogadishu.
