The 4th Conference on Medical Sciences jointly organized by SIMAD University and Jamhuuriya University opened in Mogadishu today.
The conference was attended by Minister of State for Education Abdirahman Mohamud Abdulle Jaabiri, Chairman of the Union of Somali Universities and President of SIMAD University Dahir Hassan Arab, President of Jamhuuriya University Eng Mohamed Ahmed Mohamud, President of Banadir University Dr Mohamed Mohamud Bidey, lecturers and researchers.
The two-day conference in Mogadishu will focus on Somalia’s health issues, the resurgence of Covid-19 and the presentation of research by researchers at SIMAD and Jamhuuriya Universities.
Qasim Abdi Jimale, vice chancellor of research and development at Jamhuuriya University and chairman of the conference organizing committee, told the media that more than 20 researches by SIMAD and Jamhuuriya universities will be presented during the two days of the conference.
The two-day conference was inaugurated by Minister of State for Education Abdirahman Jaabiri, who praised SIMAD and Jamhuuriya Universities for their role in the development of students and the country.
Meanwhile, the President of the Union of Somali Universities and President of SIMAD University Dahir Hassan Arab, the President of Jamhuuriya University Eng Mohamed Ahmed Mohamud pledged to continue their programs to improve the quality of Somali teachers, researchers and students.
Finally, it is expected that today’s Medical Conference, which opened today, will conclude tomorrow.
