The National Consultative Assembly meeting chaired by Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has opened in Mogadishu.
The conference will focus on accelerating the electoral process, preparing Parliamentary election procedures, finding funding for the yet-to-be-elected elections and how to move the country’s elections forward.
Four of the regional administrations have already taken part in the election process, especially the upper house.
The Hirshabele administration alone has not yet begun electing members of the upper house.
The South West and Puntland administrations have already completed their seats in the upper house, while Jubbaland and Galmudug still have a few seats left.
