Hiran regional security forces have taken control of the regional capital of Hiran region.
Reports say that the troops took control of the Hiran regional administration headquarters without any bloodshed.
At a recent press conference, senior officials of the forces said they were opposed to a violent takeover of the Hiran region.
The forces that captured the town are led by an officer named Abdullahi Barre who was recently removed from his post in the Somali military’s 27th Division and Nur Dheere, a former deputy governor of Middle Shabelle.
An official who spoke on behalf of the forces did not directly say that they are against the arrival of the President of HirShabelle but noted that they are against what the people of Hiran are against.
