Somalia’s new security minister takes office


The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia HE Mohamed Hussein Roble attended the swearing in of the new Minister of Internal Security Abdullahi Mohamed Nur who was appointed by the Prime Minister yesterday.

The Minister of Justice of the Federal Office of Somalia, HE Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, has sworn in the new Minister.

After a brief ceremony at the Ministry of Security headquarters attended by State Minister for Security Farhan, Minister of Justice and Director General of the Ministry of Security and Departmental Directors, State Minister for Security Farhan Ali Ahmed handed over power to the new Minister of Security. Abdullahi Mohamed Nur.

Speaking at the event, the new Minister of Security Abdullahi Mohamed Nur thanked the members of the ministry for their hospitality and good work for the community.

He added that all other members of the ministry will work well together and he hopes that more will be done.

The transfer of the new Minister of Security Abdullahi Mohamed Nur comes at a time when the dismissed Minister Hassan Xundubey Jim’ale said that a kidnapping took place today at the headquarters of the Ministry of Security.
