Farmajo receives credentials from Swedish ambassador

The outgoing President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, has received credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Somalia, HE Per Lindgarde, at a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace.

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, HE Per Lindgarde, conveyed a message of greetings from the President of the Republic of Sweden, HE Carl XVI Gustaf, to the President of the Republic of Sweden.

Farmajo and Ambassador Lindgarde discussed strengthening diplomatic ties between Somalia and Sweden, which are based on co-operation, mutual respect to strengthen co-operation in the areas of security, humanitarian aid, economy, investment, development and social affairs.

Finally, the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, congratulated the new Ambassador of Sweden on his appointment and said that he would be warmly welcomed by the people of Somalia and that the Federal Government would continue to support him in fulfilling his diplomatic duties.
