The Director of Information of the Somali Presidency, who works in the office of President Farmajo, said the Djiboutian government had blocked the Djibouti airport at the National Security Adviser to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Fahad Yasin Haji Dahir, and other officials.
He said in a statement that Fahad Yassin would attend the National Security Conference tomorrow, and called on the Djiboutian government to facilitate Fahad Yassin and his entourage as soon as possible.
The Federal Government of Somalia regrets the violation of the rights of travelers and international law by the Government of Djibouti in blocking the airport in Djibouti by the National Security Adviser to the President, Mr. Fahad Yassin Haji Dahir and his accompanying Somali officials.
We call on the Government of Djibouti to facilitate their travel and to take full responsibility for any harm to their personal security, as we deplore this blatant interference in the affairs of both the Government and the two fraternal peoples.
The National Security Adviser to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Fahad Yassin, is attending the National Security Conference to be held tomorrow, September 18, 2021 in Mogadishu.
The move by the Djiboutian government to block President Farmajo’s national security adviser Fahad Yassin comes amid a recent court case against him, in connection with Ikraan Tahliil’s absence.
