Puntland seizes election security equipment

Puntland Police Command has seized equipment from the United Nations to ensure the security of Somalia’s upcoming parliamentary elections in Puntland.

Colonel Ahmed Adi Sugulle, head of the Puntland Security Operations Office, described the equipment and its components.

The commander said that the equipment was from the Gulf of Aden, which connects Galkayo, Garowe and Bossaso.

He also said that the security forces in collaboration with other forces are ready to provide security for the elections.

Puntland is one of the areas where the upcoming parliamentary elections will take place, and preparations are underway for the elections.
