In Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug reached today A delegation from the United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) visited the country to monitor health services, in particular the implementation of COVID-19.
The delegation, led by Dr. Asmus Hammerich, Director of Non-Communicable Diseases and Mental Health at the World Health Organization’s Cairo office, first inspected the Hospital, one of Dhusamareb’s largest health service providers. Hospital management questions questions about changes made since WHO began responding to needs at the hospital
The inspection was accompanied by a WHO delegation, members of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Director General of the Galmudug Ministry of Health Dr. Abdiweli Mohamed Ahmed specifically inspected the hospital wards under the Solar System Project which has helped many patients get adequate oxygen, and made it possible for hospital services to be sustained.
WHO officials were finally taken to the Galmudug Ministry of Health headquarters where they spent hours meeting with Galmudug Minister of Health Abdiweli Abdullahi Jama and officials from the Ministry’s offices. The ministry has asked WHO to respond to previous requests.
WHO officials thanked for the warm welcome and said that the purpose of their visit was to assess the ongoing work and to respond to any delays that need to be addressed, with particular appreciation for the awareness process and the level of COVID19 vaccination in Galmudug and noted that the effort provided is significant.
