The remaining members of the Upper House of the Northern Regions elected

Aficio Tent in Mogadishu Elections for the remaining 11 seats in the Upper House of the Northern Regions of Somaliland were held today.

Saeed Abdi Hassan and Jama Abdillahi Mohamed would have contested for the first seat in today’s election, but Jama Abdullahi resigned and a show of hands was cast for 42 delegates by Said Abdi Hassan, with no one objecting or remaining silent.

The second seat was contested by Muno Omar Hassan and Naima Hassan Haji Mohamud, and Naima Hassan Haji Mohamud won the seat with 30 votes while Muno Omar Hassan who was sitting in this seat received 13 votes.

Ahmed Mohamed Said, who previously held the seat but resigned, and Hassan Abdi Gaas, who did not go to the polls, would have contested for the third seat in today’s election.

The fourth seat was contested by Bashe Mohamed Ismail and poet Ahmed Ibrahim Mohamed (Qorane), but Bashe Mohamed Ismail resigned and the seat was won by poet Ahmed Ibrahim Mohamed (Qorane).

Deeqa Hassan Hussein & Hodan Abokor Hassan would have contested for the last seat in the Upper House of the Northern Regions today, but Deeqa Hassan Hussein won the seat after she resigned.

The election of the Upper House of the Northern Regions has been completed today, and the election of the remaining members of the Upper House of the Federal Member States will begin in the coming days.
