A Somali boy has been shot dead in Auckland, New Zealand, by gunmen who are still being pursued by police.
Auckland is one of New Zealand’s most Somali-populated cities, and the boy was between 20 and 30 years old.
Abdikadir Mohamed Hassan, a Somali living in Auckland, said his family was unaware of the killing, but police in the city reported it.
He also said that efforts are underway by various sections of the Somali community to prevent the recurrence of killings.
Some members of the family of the slain Somali boy have demanded justice for their son, calling on the police to investigate why he was killed.
