Plane crashes in Milan, Italy

A private plane has crashed into a house in the northern Italian city of Milan, killing all eight people on board.

The plane, en route to the island of Sardinia, crashed shortly after take-off from Milan’s Linate airport.

The pilot was Romanian billionaire Dan Petrescu, 68.

Petrescu, a landlord, was one of the richest people in Romania. In addition to him, his wife and their 30-year-old son died in the crash, and a small child is also reported to be among the dead.

The crash burned the office fence and several cars parked. No one was on the ground at the time of the crash. Milan authorities say they are launching an investigation into the cause of the crash.
