Somalia, Sweden discuss security, economy

The Minister of Planning Jamal Mohamed Hassan received a delegation from the Swedish government led by the Swedish Ambassador to Somalia Mr. Per Lindgärde, Petra Smitmanis Dry, Head of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), and inspectors from the Swedish Foreign Ministry.

The two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations in the areas of security, women, youth and the economy, through the 9th National Development Plan.

Sweden’s ambassador to Somalia stressed that Sweden’s continued support for Somalia’s development will be intensified, and pledged to strengthen other areas such as security, elections and key issues in the National Development Plan.

The Swedish government is one of the countries that support Somalia, and the newly appointed ambassador to Somalia is making efforts to accelerate cooperation with Somali government officials.
